Man punched taxi driver

A BLACK cab driver was punched in the face by a would-be passenger after refusing to take the man to Tranent.

The 49-year-old driver declined to take the fare from the suspect, who had gone down the rank outside the Radisson Hotel on the High Street arguing with other drivers between 4am and 4.45am on Saturday.

As the taxi was driving away, the suspect punched the driver in the face through the taxi window. The suspect is described as being white, 25 to 30 years old, 5ft 7in tall with short blond hair.
