Man locked in leisure centre

A MAN was locked in a leisure facility after closing time.

The alarm was raised from the Penicuik Centre on Carlops Road when the man contacted police at 10.10pm last Tuesday.

Midlothian Council, which said it is now reviewing its procedures, was notified and the keyholder asked to attend. The man had been shut in the centre after closing time at 10pm.

A council spokesman said: "Midlothian Council staff have apologised to the member of the public who was involved."
