Man killed in Turriff campsite caravan crush named
Mr MacKay died after being trapped between a car and a static caravan at the remote campsite near Turriff.
He was pronounced dead at the scene on Sunday night after he was struck by a silver Daihatsu Terios and then pinned between the 4x4 vehicle and a caravan at the East Balthangie caravan and campsite on the outskirts of Cuminestown. Mr MacKay is believed to have been standing close to the static caravan when he was hit by the Daihatsu.

Hide AdFirefighters from Maud and Turriff had to use airbags to free Mackay following the horrific collision.
A spokesman for the Aberdeenshire Division of Police Scotland said: “As with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
