Man jailed for £93k bank con

A BUSINESSMAN who conned the Royal Bank of Scotland into paying £93,000 into his account in an eight-day scam has been jailed for a year.

Senthuran Gopalakrishnan, 30, who runs a CostCutter franchise, exploited the bank's cash envelope deposit scheme.

He pretended he had deposited 155,000, while he had only banked 62,000. His account was credited with the whole amount and he withdrew the 93,000 difference. None of the money has been recovered.
