Man jailed for murder bid

A MAN who tried to push a woman over a balcony during a murder bid after sending her love text messages has been jailed for six years.

Kevin Steele's victim clung on to a railing as she attempted to stop herself being pushed over a 30-feet drop, a court heard.

Labourer Steele, 37, of Springfield View, South Queensferry, earlier admitted assaulting the woman to her severe injury and permanent disfigurement on September 26 last year.

Steele sent the woman texts saying that he loved her in the days leading up to the assault.

The judge placed Steele on the sex offenders register.
