Man jailed for abusing girls

A MAN who sexually abused two young girls more than 30 years ago has been jailed for three years and placed on the sex offenders' register.

Terence Duddy, 65, abused the first girl from the age of six until she was 12 and the other between the ages of 10 and 14.

Duddy, of Norman Rise, Livingston, earlier pleaded guilty to the abuse between May 1972 and September 1981 at an address in Edinburgh.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard the abuse was regular, every three or four weeks, and the girls were told to "keep it a secret".
