Man in court over attack with bottle

A MAN has appeared in court charged with attacking a woman with a bottle.

Christopher McGinn, of Musselburgh, is facing two charges of assaulting partner Laura Lothian following two separate incidents in his home town on December 22.

It is alleged McGinn, 33, struck Ms Lothian on the head with a bottle, dragged her through a flat and pinned her to a bed during an alleged 
violent fracas in New Street, Musselburgh.

He is also charged with assaulting Ms Lothian by repeatedly seizing her by the arms during an incident at North High Street, Musselburgh, on the same date.

McGinn pleaded not guilty to both charges at Haddington Sheriff Court and was ordered not to approach or contact Ms Lothian.

McGinn will return to court to face the assault charges in March.
