Man in court on murder charge

A MAN has appeared on petition charged with the alleged murder of a mother of three.

Patrick Rae, 40, made an appearance yesterday at Dundee Sheriff Court, where he was accused of murdering Mary McLaren, 34, and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

He made no plea or declaration during the private hearing and was remanded in custody.

Rae is expected to appear again in a week's time.

Mrs McLaren, of Dundee, went missing in the early hours of Thursday 25 February, after she had been on a night out with her sister, Michelle Rodger.
