Man in court after knife stand–off

A MAN has been arrested after threatening police officers with a knife during a seven-hour stand-off.

Grampian Police were called to an address on Jute Street, Aberdeen, at around 9pm on Tuesday.

A force spokesman said the 25-year-old man threatened officers with “a large bladed weapon” and the incident, which involved police negotiators, continued until around 3:45am.

The man was arrested and has been charged by police.

The 25-year-old is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.
