Man hurt in attack airlifted to hospital

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 63-year-old Oban man suffered serious facial injuries in an assault.

The victim had to be airlifted to the Southern General Hospital, in Glasgow, after the attack on Soroba footbridge, Oban, at 12.15am on Sunday.

Sergeant Mike Wood appealed to any witnesses to contact Oban police.
