Man in hospital after stabbing

A 21-YEAR-OLD man is seriously ill in hospital after being stabbed in Muirhouse in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The attack took place at Fidra Court at around 4.30am. Police are following a positive line of inquiry,

Meanwhile, a man is in a serious condition in hospital after sustaining a head injury during a disturbance in Dalkeith. Police and ambulance staff found the man requiring urgent medical help when they were called to the scene of the incident between Lothian Street and Newmills Road at about 2am today.

He and another man, who was less seriously injured, were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
