Man in hospital after Pilton stabbing

A man is in hospital after being stabbed in a north Edinburgh street.

The 53-year-old was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary following the incident in West Pilton Place last night.

Police confirmed an investigation had been launched into the serious assault.

A spokeswoman said: “The incident occurred at around 5pm when a 53-year-old man was attacked. He was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by the Scottish Ambulance Service where he continues to be treated.

“Enquiries are currently ongoing.

“Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked contact Police Scotland on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
