Man in hospital after Govan stabbing

A MAN is being treated for serious injuries after he was stabbed in Govan, Glasgow last night.

The 47-year-old was taken to the Southern General Hospital after he was attacked at around 8pm.

Hospital staff said his injuries were very serious.

The suspect is described as being in his late twenties, between 5ft 3in and 5ft 5in tall, of stocky build and wearing a green top and white shorts with a green stripe.

Detective Constable Kenny Johnston from Strathclyde Police said: “This was a particularly nasty attack and at this time we are unsure as to any motive behind it.

“Initial inquiries have revealed that the injured man had been arguing with a woman prior to this incident taking place.

“The woman is described as being heavy built with dark hair and was wearing a dark top. It is vital that we trace this woman as she may be able to provide us with information that could assist our inquiries.

“I’d also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the actual assault or anyone who may have seen the suspect running away afterwards.”
