Man held over suspicious death in Blairgowrie

A 44-year-old man was found seriously injured near Crown Bar in Wellmeadow, Blairgowrie, just after 11.45pm yesterday.

The man, who has not been named, was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee but died a short time later.

Police are treating the death as suspicious.

A 25-year-old man has been detained and is said to be helping investigators.

Police Scotland’s specialist crime division is leading the inquiry.

The scene is being forensically examined and the area is cordoned off.

Officers are carrying out door-to-door inquiries and reviewing CCTV

footage.
