Man held over four–month crime spree

A MAN has been arrested in connection with the theft of nearly £85,000 obtained through housebreaking and three separate instances of fraud.

The crimes, which were committed over a four-month period in the Perth area and targeted elderly people, prompted a joint operation by Tayside and Strathclyde police forces.

The 20-year-old man was arrested at an address in Glasgow yesterday

A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Tayside Police said last night that they, with other police forces in Scotland, were continuing to investigate a “large number” of these types of crime.
