Man held over death of female delegate at SECC conference venue

A MAN has been arrested following the death of a female delegate during a conference event.

The body of Thai national Khanokporn Satjawat, 42, was found at Glasgow’s Clyde Auditorium, which is hosting a pharmaceutical conference this week. Her family has been informed.

Strathclyde Police said a 34-year-old man had been arrested and detained in connection with the death of Ms Satjawat, who was a pharmaceutical company manager.

Police were called to the venue, which is also known as the Armadillo, at about 2:30pm on Monday.

A police spokesman said that a report would be submitted to the procurator-fiscal.

The suspect is expected to 
appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.
