Man held in connection with Kevin Carroll shooting

A man was arrested today in connection with the death of a known gangster in a supermarket car park.

Kevin Carroll, 29, died after he was shot as he sat in the back of an Audi car outside the Asda store in Robroyston, Glasgow, on January 13.

Strathclyde Police said that a 28-year-old man was arrested and detained in police custody in connection with the death.

He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

Carroll, known as the Gerbil, was alleged to have had links with the criminal underworld and survived a previous attempt on his life three years ago.

Shoppers were questioned by detectives following the shooting, which happened in broad daylight.
