Man held by police after woman's body found in Grangemouth

A MAN has been detained by police following the discovery of a woman's body in Grangemouth.

The woman, who has not been named, was found dead at a house in the town's Almond Street shortly after 5pm yesterday.

A spokeswoman for Central Scotland Police said inquiries were at an early stage but that a man was being held at a police station.

She said: "Inquiries are currently ongoing following the death of a woman in Grangemouth.

"The investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is in its early stages.

"A man is currently detained in connection with an incident at the address."
