Man held after heroin found

A MAN has been arrested after a car was stopped by police and found to contain heroin with a street value of up to £100,000.

The 39-year-old man was due to appear at Linlithgow Sheriff Court yesterday after being charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act. He was stopped at 7:30pm on Thursday on the A71 in West Lothian.

A police spokesman said: "Approximately one kilogram of heroin with an estimated potential value of between 80,000 and 100,000 was seized."
