Man 'gutted' over £1000 fine for fight with police

A WAREHOUSE worker who fought with two policemen says he is gutted after being hit with a £1000 penalty.

Jamie Cunningham, 21, was fined 720 and ordered to pay 250 compensation.

Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday heard that Cunningham was arrested after a disturbance at a house in Fauldhouse, West Lothian.

Cunningham, of Fauldhouse, appeared for sentence yesterday. He earlier pleaded guilty to vandalism and assaulting the two police officers in the execution of their duty last October 30. Outside court Cunningham said: "I'm gutted. I didn't mean it."

Glenn Fraser, defending, claimed Cunningham's behaviour was out of character and said he had no previous convictions for violence and was assessed as being at low risk of reoffending.
