Man gets life for role in guard killing

A FORMER member of a Soviet special police unit was sentenced to life in prison yesterday for his role in the killings of seven Lithuanian border guards in 1991.

Konstantin Mikhailov is the first person to be convicted for involvement in the pre-dawn over the raid on a checkpoint.
