Man found injured in graveyard after 'animal attack'

POLICE are investigating what is believed to be an animal attack on a man who was lying unconscious in a church graveyard.

The 37-year-old was discovered with injuries to his face and hands in the early hours of Sunday at St Michael's Parish Church in the village of Inveresk, Midlothian.

It is understood that the animal involved could have been a fox, although this has not been confirmed. The man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where his injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.
