Man found hanging in playground named locally

A MAN found hanged in a primary school playground has been named locally as William Laidlaw.

Friends paid tribute to Mr Laidlaw, whose body was discovered on Wednesday morning by parents at St John Vianney RC Primary in Liberton, just as classes were about to start. The school was shut for the rest of the day.

Cassandra Munro, from Gracemount, said: “RIP William Laidlaw. You are sadly missed you had so many people who loved you.”

Mr Laidlaw is understood to be aged in his late 20s or early 30s.
