Man found dead at home a day after crashing into tree

A MOTORIST who struck a tree when his car came off the road was found dead in his home the following morning.

The 32-year-old man was driving along the A904, near to the junction with Blackness Road in West Lothian, at around 8.45pm on Saturday when the smash occurred.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene, but the man declined medical attention after telling paramedics he was uninjured.

He returned to his home in Bo'ness, and was found dead in the property on Sunday.

The cause of the man's death has not yet been established, and a postmortem is set to take place.

Lothian and Borders Police and Central Scotland Police are carrying out inquiries into the collision, and his death.

A police spokesman said: "We are appealing to anyone who was driving on the A904 between Bo'ness and Newton around the time of the collision to contact us. In particular, we want to speak to anyone who noticed two small hatchback-type vehicles heading east on the road at that time."
