Emergency services were called to the Jury’s Inn at Union Square at around 10am on Tuesday, with the police saying the death was ‘sudden’ but not thought to be suspicious.
A police spokesperson confirmed that a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal, but would not reveal any further details, including the cause of death.
The spokesperson added: “Police Scotland can confirm that officers attended a hotel in [Aberdeen] city centre following the report of a sudden death.
“There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.”
The man was staying in the hotel at the time.
A statement from Jury’s Inn read: “We are saddened to hear of the death of one of our guests at Jurys Inn Aberdeen. Our thoughts are with their family and friends.”
