Man falls from Tay Road Bridge in Dundee

SEARCH teams last night said they have failed to find a man who fell into the river from the Tay Road Bridge in Dundee.

A major operation was launched after a man was seen landing in the water from the bridge at about 1am yesterday.

Police worked with the coastguard, Broughty Ferry lifeboat and a rescue helicopter but the man, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, has not been found.

Police are appealing for information as they investigate the incident and try to locate the man’s next of kin.

Police Scotland are keen to identify the male and understand the reason for him entering the water,” a police spokesman said.
