Man faces life sentence for murder of girlfriend

A MAN is facing life in jail for murdering his girlfriend then burying her body in a park in Kilmarnock.

John Davis carried out a “brutal and sustained assault” on Hazel North at his flat in the Ayrshire town in March this year.

The tragic teenager may have lay dying for up to 18 hours before being fatally injured.

Davis then hid the remains close to his home and later boasted to a friend: “I done her in and buried her”.

It emerged the 26 year-old had only been back on the streets a couple of months having been jailed for a vicious golf club assault.
