Man due in court on teen rape charge

A MAN aged 23 has been arrested and charged over the alleged rape of a teenager last week, police have confirmed.

The man is accused of attacking an 18-year-old woman who was walking on a footpath near St John's Hospital in Livingston on Wednesday.

Lothian and Borders Police said the accused was due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Following the alleged incident, officers cordoned off the site in the Howden area and conducted forensic investigations while launching an appeal for witnesses to come forward.
