Man dragged from van as three attack

A MAN was dragged from his van and kicked and punched in the face by a gang of three men.

The 23-year-old had just parked his blue Transit van in Ferniehill Road at around 10.05pm last night when his three attackers circled the vehicle, pulled him out and assaulted him.

The victim suffered a deep cut to his right cheek, severe swelling all over his face and a suspected broken nose.

He was taken to the ERI for treatment.

The suspects fled on foot towards Gilmerton Road.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident to come forward.

All three men are described as wearing dark coloured clothing, possibly hooded tops and had either scarves or masks covering their faces.

A police spokesman said: "The victim has been left with some very

painful injuries to his face that required medical attention and we are eager to identify and locate those responsible for this assault.

"Anyone who was in Ferniehill Road around 10.05pm last night and witnessed anything suspicious is asked to contact police immediately.

"Similarly, anyone who can provide a more detailed description of the suspects or has information that can assist with our enquiries is also asked to come forward."
