Man dies in tenement fire

AN elderly man has died following a blaze in a Glasgow tenement.

The pensioner died at the scene of the fire which broke out in a block of flats in the Gorbals area of the city.

One fire-fighter suffered burns when tackling the blaze and is currently being treated in hospital.

The cause of the fire will be investigated by both Strathclyde Fire & Rescue and Strathclyde Police.
