Man dies in house fire

A JOINT police and fire-and- rescue service investigation was launched yesterday after a man died in a house fire in Aberdeen.

The inquiry began after the emergency services were called to Talisman Drive in the Garthdee area of the city yesterday afternoon.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed that one person had been found dead at the scene of the fire.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said: "Police were called to the scene by Grampian Fire and Rescue.

"Inquiries are at a very early stage and these inquiries are ongoing."
