Man dies after 'ferocious' blaze in flat

A MAN has died following a "ferocious" fire in a flat in the early hours of yesterday, emergency services said.

Fire crews were called to the blaze in a first floor flat at Langbar Crescent, in the Easterhouse area of Glasgow, at around 5.15am.

They put out the fire while carrying out a thorough search of the property.

The body of the male occupant was found in the flat's living-room.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue's Incident Research and Investigation Section and Strathclyde Police have launched an investigation into the blaze.
