Man detained in flat drama

POLICE surrounded a flat in Edinburgh after reports of a naked man allegedly running amok with a baseball bat.

The siege in Seafield Road East was ended after police officers armed with riot shields, batons and police dogs managed to talk a man out from the first-floor flat following an hour of negotiations yesterday morning. An eye-witness said 15 police vans were at the scene.

A 22-year-old man was detained by police following the incident.
