Man denies college fire

A MAN has denied setting fire to a college in Dalkeith.

James Sinders, 20, was accused of wilfully setting a fire in a cupboard at the Jewel and Esk Valley College when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

It is alleged that the fire spread, causing extensive damage, on April 20 last year.

Sinders, of Upper Dalhousie Cottage, Bonnyrigg, pled not guilty to the charge.

He is expected to appear for trial later this month.
