Man cut free after smash

A MAN had to be cut from his car after a collision with another vehicle near Bathgate.

The vehicle was travelling along the A801 near Torphichen Bridge when the cars were involved in an accident at around 7am yesterday.

Fire crews used cutting gear to remove the driver from the car. Paramedics stabilised the man at the scene before rushing him to hospital with neck and back injuries.

The male driver of the second car seemed to escape unharmed.
