Man critical after attack at flats

A MAN is in a critical condition in hospital after being found seriously injured at a block of high-rise flats.

Strathclyde Police said the man, 32, had been the victim of a “serious and violent attack”.

He was discovered on a stairwell within a tower block in Lincoln Avenue, in the Knightswood area of Glasgow, at about 12:30am on Saturday.

Police said he had sustained a number of serious injuries, and the attack was being treated as attempted murder.

He was taken to the city’s Western Infirmary where he is said to be in critical condition.

Officers have been conducting door-to-door inquiries and gathering CCTV images in a bid to gain more information.

Detective Inspector Fil Capaldi, leading the investigation, said: “At this time it’s not clear how this man came about his injuries.”
