Man in court accused of livestock mart sex attacks

A MAN is to face trial accused of groping four women at a Scottish agricultural centre.

Malcolm Michie, 46, faces four charges of sexual assault, covering a period of nearly three years.

He is alleged to have touched three of the women on numerous occasions on their genitals, buttocks and breasts, and the fourth woman on one occasion on the body, disturbing her clothing.

The incidents are alleged to have taken place on various dates between May 1st 2011 and January 11th this year at the Stirling Agricutural Centre, Stirling.

The Centre, on the outskirts of the city near the M9, is the location of a major livestock mart, and home to the internationally-famous, 149-year-old, Perth Bull Sales - renamed the Stirling Bull Sales in 2012.

A number of businesses have premises on the site.

At a preliminary hearing at Stirling Sheriff Court today Michie, of Farmestoun Cottage, Kilmahog, near Callander, Perthshire, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Sheriff Kenneth McGowan continued the case for trial on November 17th.

After defence solicitor Laura Jackson said legal aid for Michie was not yet in place, he ordered a further pre-trial review for October 17th.
