Man cleared of biting dog

A MAN has been cleared of biting a dog during a disturbance at his parents' home.

Gregor Marnoch, 32, was charged with causing cruelty to a German Shepherd dog by sinking his teeth into it on 19 January.

Tayside Police found the pet suffering from bite injuries after Marnoch refused to leave his father's home in Murthly, Perthshire. Marnoch, of Birnam, was charged with causing the animal unnecessary suffering.

At Perth Sheriff Court yesterday, he admitted breaking the peace.

However, the Crown accepted his not-guilty plea in relation to the alleged biting.

Bail was granted after solicitor David Holmes asked for his client to be released to help his father look after his two dogs.
