Man charged over thefts

A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with a spate of alleged housebreakings and thefts.

The incidents took place overnight between last Wednesday and Thursday in various addresses and locations across Bonnyrigg in Midlothian.

Police said a number of homes and vehicles were targeted during the crime spree and officers have now recovered a range of items, which they believe to have been stolen.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "Local residents and motorists are asked to inspect their vehicles and come forward if they notice anything missing."

The 30-year-old man arrested by police was set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court to face the charges.
