Man charged over sex assault at flats

A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault at a block of flats.

The 30-year-old man was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday in connection with the incident at Yeaman Place in Fountainbridge on Tuesday.

Police were called to the scene of the alleged attack at around 5.15pm.

Officers, including forensics specialists, cordoned off the block of flats, and residents were not allowed to leave their homes.

A police spokesman said: "A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Edinburgh.

"He was scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday following the incident in Yeaman Place on Tuesday."
