Man charged over robbery

A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged assault and robbery at an city newsagent.

The 20-year-old was set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.

The robbery took place at the RS McColl store on Pennywell Road, Muirhouse, at around 6:50am on Saturday, 20 January.

A 31-year-old man was previously arrested in connection with the incident and appeared in court on 5 February.

The store had been targeted by thieves in the past.
