Man charged over robbery

A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with the assault and robbery of an elderly shopkeeper who was shoved to the ground during a raid.

The 23-year-old man was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday after being detained by police investigating the alleged robbery at the Londis Convenience Store in Clovenstone Park on 7 February.

The 72-year-old victim had a four-figure sum stolen.
