Man charged over East Lothian murder

A MAN was arrested today and charged in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old who died after an assault.

Paul Jared Scott, from the Niddrie area of Edinburgh, was killed in Tranent, East Lothian, on Monday last week.

Police were called to an address in Toll House Gardens at around 4am where they found Mr Scott. He was treated by paramedics at the scene but died from his injuries.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: "A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Paul Scott in Toll House Gardens, Tranent.

"He is due to appear at Haddington Sheriff Court tomorrow."

Last week a statement from Mr Scott's family said: "Paul was adored by all his family and many friends, and we are all heartbroken.

"Our son, we will miss you forever xx."
