Man charged over alleged stabbing

A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after an alleged stabbing at a flat.

Police were called to a flat in High Street, Montrose, at around 2am yesterday after receiving reports of a disturbance.

Inside they found a 39-year-old man with serious injuries to his head, hands and arms. The victim was taken to hospital in Dundee, but police said his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The accused is expected to appear at Arbroath Sheriff Court on Monday.
