Man charged in court over Zoe Nelson death

A man appeared in court today charged with murdering a teenager whose body was found in a field.

The remains of 17-year-old student Zoe Nelson were discovered near Branchalfield Drive in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, on May 23.

Robert Bayne, 20, was arrested on Sunday and appeared before Hamilton Sheriff Court today.

Bayne, from Wishaw, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

Zoe, who was studying car repair at Motherwell College, was last seen leaving her home in Newmains at around 5pm on Saturday May 22.
