Man burned in pan blaze

A 25-YEAR-old man has been treated for burns to his hands after a pan of food caught fire at a flat in Fountainbridge last night.

Fire crews were called to the property in Tay Street around 8.30pm last night after the fire spread from the kitchen.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said the man had carried the blazing pan from the kitchen to the bathroom in an attempt to put it out, but that the blaze had then set fire to the bathroom.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the flat and used a hose to tackle the blaze.

Meanwhile, the man was treated with oxygen by the fire crew until paramedics arrived.
