Man bitten on the face in 'savage' pub attack

A MAN has been treated in hospital after he was bitten on the face near a city centre bar in a "vicious and savage" assault.

The 23-year-old was standing near to the front door of the Reflex bar on Renfield Street, Glasgow on Saturday night when a man and a woman seriously assaulted him.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to be treated for a serious facial injury and was later discharged. It is believed the two attackers entered the bar after the incident which happened at about 11.45pm yesterday.

Two other young men also needed hospital treatment after separate serious assaults in the Glasgow area yesterday.

A 25-year-old man was stabbed in an apparently random attack after he left a party in Woodend Road, Rutherglen, to go and meet his girlfriend.

He was attacked on Saturday night just after he left the front garden of the property, and managed to walk back into the party after the assault.

His friends took him to the Victoria Infirmary where he was treated for "terrible" stab wounds and is currently in a stable condition, police said.

Police appealed for information about the attack which happened at about 11pm on Saturday night.

A 26-year-old man was assaulted after an argument with two men outside the "One-O-One" off sales in Shettleston, Glasgow at around 8am.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and then transferred to Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow, to be treated for a serious eye injury.

Hospital staff describe his condition as "stable".
