Man beaten and slashed by youths

A MAN was assaulted with a baseball bat by two youths who approached him asking for a light in Glasgow city centre.

The 28-year-old, who was also slashed across the face, staggered home before collapsing on the doorstep of a neighbour, who called the police, at 3:50am yesterday.

Detective Constable Scott Holtz said: "This is a despicable crime, totally unprovoked which has left the victim traumatised."
