Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said law enforcement officials in Germany had started keeping tabs on it because it had been visited a total of 1.2 million times.

They discovered the details of who had visited the website and this allowed police to arrest the Polish immigrant.

Yesterday, Dettloff was sentenced to three years’ probation and 225 hours of community service by Sheriff Paul Arthurson QC, who decided to impose the non custodial sentence because Dettloff is a first offender. Specialist social workers also think he is at low risk of re-offending.
