Man assaults woman in city train station

POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was indecently assaulted at Haymarket station.

The 27-year-old was making her way to the platform on Friday, August 27 when she was assaulted.

Dc Dave McAllister, the investigating officer, said that the incident took place at 9.09pm near platform 4.

He said: "As the victim was making her way to the platform a man approached her from the stairwell. As they passed each other on the footbridge, the man moved toward her and twice touched her indecently."

The man is 5ft4in tall, in his late 30s to early 40s with a medium to heavy build. He had dark hair and dark clothing. He was also carrying a large blue holdall with red piping.
